Rebel Wilson has one of the oddest weight loss stories of any Hollywood star. She really wanted to lose weight and be healthy, but she couldn’t. To play her most prominent role as “Fat Amy” in Pitch Perfect, she needed to stay the same size as when she auditioned.
Once the filming wrapped up for the three films, she stuck to her mission of reaching 165 pounds. She dubbed 2020 the year of health and has already lost 40 pounds. Her diet mostly revolves around cutting out snacking, gluten, and dairy and focusing on breakfast instead of dinner. She also works out five days a week.

Jorge Garcia made waves with his role in the series Lost. But in order to keep his role, he needed to change in the same way that someone stuck on a remote island would… by losing weight. He lost some but gained it back when his time with the show ended.
It didn’t take long before the standup comedian decided to take proper action, though. Garcia did a complete lifestyle change. He started eating a high protein diet and quit drinking, which was a considerable health hazard. Garcia also added exercise to his regimen with a mix of cardio and weights.

Kirstie Alley was in demand in the ’80s. She is renowned for her roles as Rebecca Howe in Cheers as well as her starring roles in movies like Look Who’s Talking, It Takes Two, and Drop Dead Gorgeous. She also starred in the show called Veronica’s Closet.

There used to be a running joke that if singer and songwriter Adele lost a few pounds, she would stop writing such sad songs. Well, in 2020, she revealed the new Adele, and she’s almost unrecognizable. The Sirtfood Diet is responsible for her weight loss.
The diet is a calorie-restricted eating plan based on Sirtfood approved foods and Sirtfood juice. The diet works in phases, weening you into your new eating habit. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Adele had to delay work on her latest album. The 32-year-old star hasn’t released any new music since 2015.
Jonah Hill – 36 Lbs
Jonah Hill was getting around by being the fat dude in the films he did. He even put in an Oscar-nominated performance in The Wolf Of Wall Street while at his heaviest. Still, he never liked being overweight and struggled with fluctuating mass for most of his life.
After putting on weight for his role in the film War Dogs, he asked his 21 Jump Street co-star Channing Tatum for advice on how to lose weight. The advice led to him cleaning up his diet and hitting the gym with a personal trainer. Hill has managed to maintain his habits, although he still has a beer sometimes.
Mo’Nique – 45 Lbs
Funny woman, Mo’Nique has always been proud of her curves and has encouraged women to accept theirs. Most commonly known for her sassy role in the sitcom The Parker’s and her Oscar-winning performance in the film Precious, Mo’Nique had to make a change to stay alive.
She has always said that weight loss should be about health and happiness, and with her weight resulting in high blood pressure and diabetes, she found her “health reason” to lose weight. To do this, she changed her diet, dropping fried food and sugar. She also got a personal trainer, did weight training and cardio, and started dancing a lot more.
Kelly Osbourne – 50 Lbs
Kelly Osbourne shot to fame thanks to her family’s reality show The Osbournes. While she never bothered about her weight before the show started, the spotlight made her more image-conscious. This was mostly due to the cyberbullying she went through regarding her weight and image.
Osbourne went on a journey that saw her weight fluctuate before it eventually dropped and stabilized. She attributes this to her vegan diet and regular hikes in the Hollywood Hills. Osbourne also has a personal trainer who trains both her and her mother, Sharon, leading to Kelly’s 50-pound weight loss.

As a comedian, Roseanne Barr built a career on being funny—not being slim—and she did pretty well in that regard. Her high-rated sitcom gave her worldwide fame and won her a Golden Globe and Emmy Awards. But she turned heads on the 2018 spin-off of her sitcom when she looked considerably lean.

Holly Madison – 19 Lbs
Being a former Playboy Girl Next Door, Holly Madison knows a thing or two about keeping her weight down. But after landing a role in a Las Vegas Burlesque show called Peepshow, she lost her way. Believing that her performance would keep her fit, she forgot to keep an eye on how she was eating.
Eventually, she gained 19 pounds. She decided to act quickly and used the NV weight loss supplement and the attached diet to drop a jeans size in two weeks. She acknowledges that the diet was extreme, and has moved to a more manageable eating plan, and maintaining good habits such as not starting the day with coffee.

Despite battling weight issues and eating disorders for most of her life, Gabourey Sidibe got her big break playing a character with similar problems in the 2009 film Precious. She earned a Golden Globe and Oscar nomination for that role but continued her fight against her weight.
After a few failed attempts, including a 60-pound weight loss that she reversed after a few months. She decided that the best course of action was going for bariatric surgery. Sidibe has also been hitting the gym and lost an estimated 150 pounds in the three years since her operation.

Having played the object of affection for various characters in the Big Bang Theory, and playing the operative daughter in 8 Simple Rules, Kaley Cuoco has always been lean, fit, and beautiful to play these roles. But she has claimed that it’s hard for her to stay in shape, and that’s why she works hard at doing it.
Cuoco swears by a pescatarian diet, which is plant-based but also includes fish and seafood. The other things she swears by is hot yoga, which she chose over spinning and running. She does five sessions a week and says that it has transformed her body’s shape and performance.

John Goodman was renowned as a big hilarious man who, at one point, topped 400 pounds. But the star of films like The Flintstones and 10 Cloverfield Lane decided to take a stance with his weight, changing his entire lifestyle in the process.
Goodman quit drinking and has attended daily Alcoholics Anonymous meetings since 2007. He also switched to a Mediterranean diet focusing on plant-based foods and limiting red meat. Goodman has reprised his role as Dan in the Roseanne spin-off called The Conners. He will also be voicing his Monster’s Inc character in an upcoming series called Monsters At Work.
Jonathan Antoine – 56 Lbs
Jonathan Antoine gained fame in season 6 of Britain’s Got Talent as part of the classical duo Charlotte and Jonathan. They finished second in the competition but impressed Simon Cowell enough to earn a $1.3 million record deal with his label Syco.
But before the show, he was being picked on because of his weight, and this resulted in depression and thoughts of self-harm. But after being on the show, he gained impetus and decided to do something about his weight. He joined Weight Watchers, now known as WW, weighing 280 pounds, and to date has dropped 56 pounds.
Matthew McConaughey – 47 Lbs
No, Matthew McConaughey does not have a weight issue, but he is a method actor and often needs to change his appearance to suit his roles. This was something he had to do for his role in the critically acclaimed film, Dallas Buyers Club.
For the role, he had to lose weight to resemble a patient who has AIDS in the ’80s. In order to do this, he ate a plant-based diet and largely cut out meat. At least for his trouble, he won an Oscar for Best Actor, but he also claimed that the weight loss made him feel odd, and he struggled with sleep.
Penn Jillette – 100 Lbs
Penn Jillette is a renowned magician best known for making things magically disappear. But when doctors told him he had a 90% blockage in his arteries and needed to do something or risk dying, he needed to plan a disappearing act of a different kind.
He had to shed some serious weight, and for once, he couldn’t use magic to make it disappear. Instead, he chose a unique method called the potato diet. Like it says in the name, Jillette ate only potatoes, adding more vegetables later on while also adding a rigorous exercise regimen.

You would think that Celine Dion couldn’t lose weight, considering how skinny she has been throughout her life. She was even bullied and called “vampire” at school because of her petite frame and prominent set of teeth. Yet, that’s exactly what happened since her husband died.

Randy Jackson is renowned for being the excited and energetic judge on shows like American Idol and America’s Best Dance Crews. But he also had a weight issue, and he was beginning to get some flack form colleagues and even contestants on the abovementioned shows.
A nthony Anderson – 47 Lbs
Actor and comedian Anthony Anderson was on a role. After years as a supporting cast member on shows like The Bernie Mac Show and films like Romeo Must Die, he finally got his lead role in the sitcom Black-Ish. But while he found success, he was also dealing with health issues.
Anderson had been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and made plans to implement drastic changes to his lifestyle to counter the condition. He cleaned up his diet by cutting out alcohol and become a vegetarian for a short while. Anderson has since converted to a pescatarian lifestyle and has also included exercise into his routine.
Drew Carey – 100 Lbs
Drew Carey was renowned as the round funny guy on his shows like the Drew Carey Show and Whose Line Is It Anyway?. However, the former US Marine struggled with his weight for years and eventually had to undergo coronary angioplasty, while also being diagnosed with type 2 diabetes.
He made a change to his eating habits and also enlisted the help of a personal trainer to get him back in shape. Carey cut out beer and sugar and worked out five days a week. This resulted in a weight loss of 100 pounds, and according to Carey, also reversed his diabetes.

Valerie Bertinelli lived the dream of every young ’80s girl when she became a movie star married to a rock star. At the time, she was married to legendary guitarist Eddie Van Halen, while also starring in the hit series One Day At A Time back in that era.
Despite her success, Bertinelli struggled with weight and body image issues since her teens. She took action by following the Jenny Craig diet, losing 40 pounds. She has since tried to be less focused on her weight and came up with her own healthy eating plan that she shares on her Food Network shows like Valerie’s Home Cooking.
Lisa Riley – 168 Lbs
During her original stint as Mandy Dingle in the hit British soap opera Emmerdale, Lisa Riley was well known as a large actress. The character even became renowned for her size during the six years she was on the show, between 1995 and 2001.
When she reprised the role for a guest stint in 2019, the character was half the size after Riley lost the equivalent of 168 pounds. She did this while she worked on shows like Loose Women and the Drama Age Before Beauty. She achieved her weight loss by changing her diet, cutting out carbs, finding healthy alternatives for her favorite snacks, and exercising.
Paul Wall – 120+ Lbs
Two things motivated rapper Paul Wall to actively lose weight. The first was when he got a call from VH1 to be on Celebrity Fit Club, and the second when his doctor told him that he was morbidly obese. He didn’t do the show, but he heeded his doctor’s warning and made a plan to start losing some weight.
When he started his journey, he weighed 320 pounds, and he took drastic measures to begin his weight loss journey by getting gastric sleeve surgery. After losing 100 pounds thanks to the surgery, he started a diet and exercise regimen that led to further weight loss. He currently tips the scales at under 200 pounds.
Melissa McCarthy – 75 Lbs
Melissa McCarthy gained notoriety with her role in the sitcom Mike And Molly. The show revolved around a couple who meet at an overeaters anonymous meeting, so being on the heavy side was perfect for the part. In time, Hollywood came to love her comedic sense and timing.
McCarthy has always struggled with weight, and when she was in Gilmore Girls before Mike and Molly, she did a liquid-only diet that helped her lose 70 pounds. She didn’t keep it off, but in 2015 she dropped 50 pounds. What was her secret this time? McCarthy says it’s living a boring life, getting to bed early, and martial arts training.
Ashley Graham – 20 Lbs
As a plus-size model, Ashley Graham is at the forefront of the body positivity movement. She is the first plus-sized model to feature on the cover of Sports Illustrated Swimwear Issue, and she has formed ALDA Plus Size Agency along with fellow plus-size models.
However, Graham has also been slammed for promoting obesity and has even been quizzed about losing weight. One rumor even suggested that she lost 20 pounds, although she has debunked those rumors. Graham does eat healthily, though, and also maintains a consistent workout routine. In January 2020, she gave birth to her second child.
Keely Shaye Smith – 120 Lbs
While her husband may be famous for playing superspy James Bond, Keely Shaye Smith is no slouch herself. She is a journalist who has hosted NBC’s Unsolved Mysteries and has won two Genesis Awards as the environmental correspondent for ABC’s The Home Show.
Smith, who was once a glamour model, gained a fair bit of weight after having her and Pierce Brosnan’s second child. The media then started speculating, and the Internet trolls also sank their teeth in, forcing her to make a move. Smith overhauled her lifestyle and dropped 120 pounds thanks to it. She debuted her new body at the premier of Brosnan’s film Mamma Mia 2.
Peter Kay – Undisclosed Lbs
In the most mysterious way, Peter Kay canceled his 2018-2019 tour called Have Gags, Will Travel and has since disappeared from the spotlight. June Shannon, aka Mama June, finally has the spotlight on her. She rose to fame as a pageant mom with her daughter Alana Thompson, AKA Honey Boo Boo, on the reality show Toddlers And Tiaras. She gained further infamy when Alana got her very own show, Here Comes Honey Boo Boo.
During her time on screen, she was always ridiculed for her weight, which sat at 460 pounds at one point. But then, she got gastric bypass surgery and also started using a personal trainer to help sculpt her body, and dropped 150 pounds. She also got her own reality docuseries called Mama June: From Not To Hot.
Chaz Bono – 85 Lbs
Chaz Bono put his body through a physiological blender while transitioning from female to male. However, he had one more challenge to overcome: his weight. The only child of the duo Sonny & Cher used to weigh 250 pounds. In 2012, after participating in Dancing With The Stars, he decided to drop the extra pounds.
The 51-year-old Bono aimed to lose 50 pounds initially. He completely eradicated grains from his diet and based his food intake on fruit, vegetables, nuts, and meat. He has since surpassed his goal of 50 pounds and currently sits at an 85-pound weight loss.
Chrissy Metz – 100 Lbs
In the hit series This Is Us, Chrissy Metz plays a 30-something named Kate, who struggles with her body image. Metz was considered perfect for the role due to her weight and body shape, which also suited the character’s endeavors. But before this, she played another role in American Horror Story: Freak Show.
While playing a big lady in a circus freak show, Metz realized she needed to do something about her weight. She actually wore a fat suit for the series. Metz took action by cutting down her calorie count to 2,000 per day. She also walked daily for 20 minutes and has gradually lost 100 pounds.
