Germany
Germany is a well-known country for numerous things, such as great beer, free education, and a beautiful style of football. Its national men’s football team is one of the strongest worldwide, having qualified for the World Cup 19 out of 21 times and winning the tournament four times over the years.
From the way German fans conduct themselves in all their team’s matches, we bet a big part of the team’s success is its adoring fans. In 2010, for example, this German fan caught the attention of many with her beauty and paintwork while cheering for Germany against Australia at the 2010 World Cup match in Durban, South Africa.
Poland
The 2018 World Cup was a sight to behold, and the people too, especially the female fans. So much so that people became fixated on them, and some even began complaining about the attractive fans distracting their male counterparts from focusing on the real action—the soccer matches themselves.
This beautiful Polish fan has to be the first one they complained about. The team has competed in seven FIFA World Cup editions since its first appearance in 1938. It also won bronze medals at the tournament in 1974 and 1982. It’s a pity that we didn’t see more of her as Poland got eliminated in the group stage.
Portugal
We thought we’d seen enough by now, but it turns out we haven’t! These Portuguese fans may be the wildest of them all. Their appetite for soccer is just beautiful to watch, as they had to drive 7000 kilometers from Lisbon to Russia to cheer the Portuguese team! Such a display of passion for soccer and the country is quite inspirational.
The extremely enthusiastic Portuguese fans cheered their team to victory against Morocco and a draw against their bitter rivals, Spain. What would make them not cheer for their team when they have arguably the greatest player of all time, Cristiano Ronaldo?
USA
We’d definitely get into an argument with any American football fan on whether it’s called football or soccer (as the Americans call it). All in all, they dominated the 2018 World Cup, having bought the highest number of tickets, even more than the hosts, Russia.
They graced the stadiums with similar vigor at the 2014 World Cup outing, where they still showed the world their unbreakable spirits even after a loss to Belgium. Their consistency has resulted in their team being placed 16th in the FIFA men’s ranking. This is a far cry from their previous rankings, and they will definitely hope to improve on that.
Italy
Italian football fans are probably the world’s most successful thanks to cheering for one of the most successful national teams ever to play soccer. They’ve cheered the Italian team to win four FIFA World Cup titles, two European Championships, and probably more second and third-place finishes than any other team in the world.
It is often said that Italian fans are the ones who put the “fan” in fanaticism with their world-renowned displays, and this woman shows us exactly why. “Gli Azzurri,” as the Italian team is popularly called, last won a World Cup title in 2006 and is ranked 6th by FIFA.
Costa Rica
Women have been behind the recent evolution in the football world, both through playing and cheering for their teams. This woman caught the eye of many in the stands while she was cheering for her country, Costa Rica, at the World Cup.
While cheering for the most successful national soccer team from Central America, it’s essential to show up and show out, and she did just that. Costa Rica has only played in five World Cup editions and has had considerable success in some, but whenever they play, their fans are always a joy to watch, and this woman just proved that.
Brazil
Brazilians live in the largest country in South America, which explains why they have four different time zones. Apart from that, they are known to be among the world’s greatest soccer enthusiasts. And research shows that at least nine out of ten Brazilians have played football at some point.
Considering the morale-boosting beauty of this Brazilian fan, it’s no surprise as they also have one of the best national soccer teams in the world. The Brazilian national football team has won the FIFA World Cup finals five times and is the only team to have qualified for all World Cup tournaments.
Saudi Arabia
It can only take a special breed of fans to recover the morale shattered by a five-nil defeat at the hands of Russia at the 2018 FIFA World Cup. However, that was not a worry for the Saudi Arabis, as they had it all, and they went on to beat the formidable Egyptian team fielding the legendary Mohammed Salah.
In 2022, the Saudi Arabian team placed 69th in the 2018 FIFA ranking, a position they have since relinquished for the much higher rank of 53. That ranking is only bound to improve if their fans, like this woman, continue with their exploits.
Croatia
Since gaining independence, Croatia has appeared only six times in the World Cup. On their fifth appearance in 2018, even breathtaking doesn’t do justice to their fans who cheered for the team.
The fact that the Croatian team trounced teams from Denmark, Belgium, Russia, and England to go all the way to the final says a thing or two about how fierce they proved to be in the face of beautiful fans like this one. While they may not have won the World Cup, going up against France in a final is quite the feat for a country of its size.
Russia
While Russia may be known for some unsavory things, it also has its beauty. It is mostly known as the biggest country in the world and part of the seven world powers, but most people don’t know that Russia is also home to a national team that has qualified for the FIFA World Cup a whole 11 times.
The reason for this success is undoubtedly fans like this one, who took to their games in emphatic style when they hosted the 2018 World Cup. That year, they went all the way to the quarterfinals, with some incredible performances in between.
Poland
The Daily Telegraph called them the wildest fans to grace the 2018 World Cup, and rightly so. Even FIFA imposed a fine of 10,000 Swiss francs on the Polish soccer association for the conduct of its fans, but that didn’t stop them from cheering the Polish team to a 1-0 victory against Japan.
The national soccer team is also placed 26th in the 2018 FIFA men’s ranking, and they have definitely had their fair share of incredible moments, including their two third-place finishes in 1974 and 1982 and an emphatic 7-0 win over Haiti in the 1974 World Cup in West Germany.
Japan
The beauty of football can be manifested in many other ways, apart from physical appearance. This is what the Japanese soccer fans resoundingly proved at the 2018 World World. Even in the face of a heartbreaking loss, these super fans, brandishing trash bags, commenced cleaning the stadium with the help of the stadium cleaners.
If only such actions would be a requirement for success in the world cup, their national team would have won it that year. Even if that didn’t happen, their tenacity of mind improved their FIFA ranking from 50th in 2018 to 23rd in 2022. Such an incredible achievement!
England
England is definitely one of the best places to study due to the world-class Oxford and Cambridge universities. It’s no wonder some of the biggest technological advances can be attributed to English scientists such as Isaac Newton, Charles Darwin, and Stephen Hawking.
At the 2018 World Cup in Russia, England proved the new notion that they have become one of the world’s football powerhouses right. Their fans are admirable, especially these two, who are dressed identically with paintings of the country’s flag on their faces. With these types of fans, they are definitely looking forward to winning the World Cup sometime soon.
Belgium
Does the nickname “Red Devils Association” ring any bells? Well, the Royal Belgian Football Association hasn’t lost it on Belgian soccer fans, as they are equally as fierce as they are beautiful. Combine these formidable supporters with a team featuring the likes of Eden Hazard and Romelu Lukaku, and we see why the team was a well-oiled soccer machine at the 2018 World Cup.
The team’s third-place finish at the 2018 World Cup wasn’t surprising, nor was their first-place FIFA ranking. With the crop of young talent and a plethora of fans such as this one, the team is definitely bound to be a force to reckon.
Australia
The Australian National team, famously known as the “Socceroos,” proved their underdog status when they thrashed soccer giants and world champions like Uruguay, France, and Argentina in the World Cup. Looking at the intensity of its fans, we have every reason to believe the victories were deserved.
The Australian National Team’s run at the 2018 World Cup may not have been all that savory, but these super fans kept their spirits high, even breaking out beers to celebrate their players. We can definitely foresee more success at the 2022 world cup, especially if fans like this one keep their energy high.
South Korea
Anyone who knows about South Korea knows that taekwondo is their undisputed national sport. This doesn’t mean that they don’t participate in other sports, as bullfighting, basketball, and baseball are also gaining popularity. However, according to a 2021 poll of South Korean residents, soccer is the favorite sport, with 25% of the votes.
This definitely explains why soccer fans and supporters outnumber those of other sports in the country, and why these two fans and many others were on hand to get their national football team through to the round of 16. That didn’t stop them from flaunting their patriotism and beauty too.
Egypt
Egypt is one of the best football teams in Africa. However, the fans’ performances are superior, and their enthusiasm resulted in their being barred from watching matches in stadiums throughout Egypt. At the 2018 World Cup, though, they still managed to cheer the Pharaohs at their last competitive match against Saudi Arabia, which ultimately ended in defeat.
Their fans have to be the most relentless, as they went ahead and cheered their team to a six-nil victory against Niger in their next competition after their World Cup exit. Their enthusiasm has led the Pharaohs’ rankings to improve to 39th in the world and 6th in Africa.
Iran
In addition to being the birthplace of one of the world’s oldest civilizations, Iran is also quite famous for its art, architecture, and culture. One of their specialties is calligraphy, which explains why the body paintings on this fan are the most flawless we’ve seen.
The number ten embroidered on her shirt alongside the heart-shaped figure was worn by Iranian soccer players Sardar Azmoun and Karim Ansarifard. With the backing of their fans, the team has qualified for the World Cup just six times, and they will be hoping to make it past the group stage at the 2022 World Cup, which wouldn’t be difficult with fans like this one.
Slovakia
Anyone who is a true lover of nature has definitely visited Slovakia, which is arguably the most perfect destination for them. It’s best known for its national parks, folk architecture, and hiking trails, not to mention the hundreds of caves, some of which are protected sites by the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
While there is plenty to enjoy when visiting Slovakia, we have one more in their love of football. Cheering for the national team at the World Cup is a no-brainer for most Slovakian fans, and this one showed her love and patriotism by staying behind even after the game had long ended.
France
France is a beautiful country in all ways. From the boulevards of Paris to the Eiffel Tower and the Musée du Louvre, Paris’ perfection and beauty make it a special place. It’s no surprise that this fan came looking amazing in her wonderfully decorated headgear that matched her scarf, a good color choice to complement one of France’s tricolor flags.
France is the country most visited by tourists worldwide, thanks to Paris’ international fame as the “City of Love” and the French reputation as wine connoisseurs, having produced one of the most expensive wines, a bottle of 1945 Romanee-Conti that was sold for a whopping $558K to an Asian collector.
Russia
Russian fans are among the most enthusiastic at the World Cup. To date, we still wonder what they screamed at their team to bring about the devastating defeat that the Saudi Arabian squad suffered at their hands, but one thing we know is that they are not to be messed with, and certainly not in their own country.
This woman was among the incredible fans who cheered the Russian team to a near win against Croatia and did not lose spirit when they lost on penalties. While they did not win the World Cup at home, they will be proud of the way they represented their country.
Paraguay
Paraguay is a little-known country in South America, except when it comes to having the largest water reserve and being famous for its tablecloths. It’s no surprise, as it is sandwiched between Argentina, Brazil, and Bolivia. However, from this picture, it looks like they made themselves known for another thing: having beautiful football fans.
Besides having a talented national football team ranked 43rd in the 2021 FIFA men’s ranking, they also have pretty patriotic fans. We can see that from this woman’s outfit, which resembles the Paraguayan flag: a red, white, and blue triband, which is believed to represent independence and liberty.
